Tour directions From The Rugby World Cup Celebration, return up the stairs to the City to Sea Bridge and, with your back to the waterfront, go to the lawn to the left of the bridge.

Pool party

The Fencing of Swimming Pools Act requires any swimming pool of more than 40cm deep to have a fence.

Benches metaphorically representing pools are exempt.

Sculpture background

Fisher's The Pool / Reflected Pools consists of three benches placed around a lawn in Māui's Garden, Civic Square. The benches are made from the piles of a demolished wharf.

Each bench has a blue painted inner side, like the edge of a pool.

Fisher intended the benches to be placed in a triangular arrangement, with their blue edges connected. The way the benches are currently arranged is to make them more functional as seats.
